View Session Recording

Every SimCare session is recorded and made available for your review. Listening to your own clinical interactions is a powerful learning tool that complements the written feedback reports.

Accessing Your Recording

After your session feedback is generated, you'll find the recording:

  • In your session feedback dashboard
  • On the session history page
  • Via the link in your feedback notification email

Recording Format

  • Audio Quality: High-fidelity recording of both you and the AI avatar
  • Duration: Complete session from start to finish
  • Format: Streamable online or downloadable as MP3

How to Use Session Recordings

Self-Reflection

Listen to yourself to:

  • Hear your tone, pace, and inflection
  • Notice filler words or verbal tics
  • Identify moments of confidence or hesitation
  • Recognize patterns in your communication style

Cross-Reference with Transcript

Use the synchronized view to:

  • Follow along with the annotated transcript while listening
  • Hear the context behind highlighted moments
  • Understand how tone affects interpretation
  • See how pauses and pacing impact the interaction

Compare Sessions

Listen to recordings from different sessions to:

  • Track vocal confidence development
  • Notice improvement in conversational flow
  • Identify persistent speech patterns
  • Celebrate growth over time

Recording Player Features

Playback Controls

  • Play/Pause: Standard controls
  • Speed Adjustment: 0.75x to 2x playback speed
  • Skip Forward/Back: 10-second jumps
  • Timeline: Jump to any point in the session

Timestamp Markers

The timeline includes markers for:

  • Key moments highlighted in your feedback
  • Phase transitions (introduction, assessment, intervention, closing)
  • Significant patient responses

Download Options

  • Download full session as MP3
  • Download specific segments
  • Recordings available for 6 months

Learning Activities with Recordings

Activity 1: Pause and Predict

  1. Play a portion of your session
  2. Pause before your next response
  3. Consider: What would I say differently now?
  4. Resume and compare

Activity 2: Vocal Analysis

  • Listen specifically for tone and emotion
  • Note where you sound empathic vs. clinical
  • Identify moments where tone didn't match intent
  • Practice reading the same responses with different tones

Activity 3: Peer Learning

  • Share recordings with study partners (with proper consent)
  • Provide feedback to each other
  • Discuss alternative approaches
  • Learn from each other's styles

Activity 4: Supervision Prep

  • Identify 2-3 moments to discuss with your supervisor
  • Prepare specific questions about those moments
  • Share relevant segments in supervision
  • Get expert input on your technique

Privacy and Security

Recording Storage

  • Recordings are securely encrypted
  • Only you and authorized program administrators can access them
  • Automatically deleted after retention period (typically 6 months)
  • You can delete recordings early if desired

Sharing Recordings

You can share recordings:

  • By downloading and sharing the MP3 file
  • By generating a temporary share link (expires in 7 days)
  • With your institution's designated supervisors (if enabled)

Technical Requirements

For Streaming

  • Modern web browser with audio support
  • Stable internet connection
  • Headphones or speakers

For Downloading

  • Audio file size: Typically 5-15 MB per session
  • Format: MP3 compatible with all devices
  • Can be imported into audio editing software if desired
